This is the first of a series of Coptic journals made with topo maps and collage elements, and this series is the first that’s been planned from the start to be sale items. Holy Cross is up on Etsy, with more to come in the next month or so. The elements they all have in common are the topo map + gel transfer collage; a double layer of book board with the cover stitching sandwiched between the layers for a nice sturdy cover and a clean, smooth endpaper (though not so much on this one, because I flubbed up the glueing a little – it’s a learning process!); the exposed spine; and that fabulous, lush heavy Fabriano paper. I think these will make fantastic art journals and I’m hoping they find homes with people who will use them for that purpose.
